IS THE SOUTH WHERE IT'S AT?
It’s undeniable how much heat is coming from the South. Fellow artist from T-Town and one of the six members from DSR, Big Tuck is definitely on his grind making all the necessary moves to bring Dallas up to Par. With a scorching new single “I know you want that” featuring platinum recording artist Chamillionare, Big Tuck is surely doing it BIG.

Dallas MC Big Tuck sat exclusively with RapIndustry.com last week at Universal Headquarters in New York City. We had the opportunity to hear his new album titled "Tha Absolute Truth", which is slated for release this September 12. Big Tuck sat down with us and filled us in with details on the south, his new album, and more!

Big Tuck has been on his grind for years, moving 100,000 units independently and now with a massive amount being put up by Universal, he can surely say his “Day to day Grind was all worth it.” After hearing the noise coming from the South, Big Tuck has to show the world how Dallas gets down, demonstrating how different their music really is. Big Tuck’s album, Tha Absolute Truth, will be released Sept. 12; it features many home-based producers and collaborations with Erica Badu and many more from T-Town Records.

RapIndustry.com: Can you tell us about your new album “Tha Absolute Truth,” What should we expect?

Big Tuck: "My music is different.. my music is real. I have a southern swagga, and southern style. I know people tend to like different stuff so I’m trying to push my different music. It can’t sound like N.Y. music, if It’s from Dallas."

RapIndustry.com: So this new movement from Dallas is not just you, Can you let us know who else we should be on the look out for?

Big Tuck: "Dallas is playing it’s part now, but we're a couple of months away. I can't do it (lead the movement) by myself. Definitely my DSR clique, T-Town Records and Dallas family are standing by. We have a strong, talented clique that's ready."

RapIndustry.com: It’s obvious that the west coast and east coast move differently. The west coast seem to move in units as a family, everyone is doing their thing, opposed to the east coast we tend to be more independent. Why do you think is that?

Big Tuck: "It’s the same in Dallas and in the southern region as it is in the east coast. It just depends on the people doing it. If you work thoroughly and you’re cool with everybody then you automatically can work well with people."

RapIndustry.com: Are there any artist that you want to collaborate with that you haven’t already?

Big Tuck: "I definitely want to work with Jeezy, R. Kelly, Twista, T.I.- I mean everybody."

Rapindustry.com: Before we finish here, is there any advice you can give those that are trying to pursue the same goals and dreams as you?

Big Tuck: "Stay focused; don’t wait on anybody to give you a handout because them days are over. You need to be on your day-to-day grind. Don’t let anybody tell you that you can’t do anything. Stay focused and keep faith in the lord."
