The deplorable conditions
that I have witnessed in Haiti has created a sense of urgency to get
involved and assist with the rebuilding efforts, said Jimmy Rosemond.
As a Haitian-American, I am extremely proud to be able to donate
to the children of Haiti. As a man of influence within the community,
it is my responsibility to increase awareness among the Hip-hop generation.
In addition, Rosemond and
Wyclef will be meeting with government officials in Haiti to discuss
current conditions and improvement methods. Currently, Haiti is the
poorest and most dangerous nation in the Western Hemisphere with the
majority of its 8 million residents living on less than $1 per day.
Unemployment is close to 80 percent and average life expectancy is less
than 50 years.
