The year 2006 is coming to a close, time to reflect on moments that stood out more than others during this wonderful year!

Shall I rewind from the beginning and conclude with this year's most memorable moment in 2006?

1. Remember…. When ex-editor-in-chief, Kim Osario, sued the Source Magazine for $1.5 million based on claims of sexual harassment and sexual discrimination? Girlfriend is in the money now; I wonder how she’s going to spend all that loot! By the way, did anyone peep her running the news on BET lately?? Hmmmmm…

2. Remember… When Whitney Houston and her estranged husband, Busted Brown, I mean Bobby Brown finally called it quits?? Thank God for divorce lawyers and common sense! It’s been long awaited Whitney, now all you have to do is get your singing voice back and it’s all good!

3. Remember…When Philadelphia bred rapper, Cassidy almost died in a terrible car accident? He was rushed to the hospital after suffering from a fractured skull and other broken bones on his face. We hope the recovery is a successful one!

4. Remember…When rapper Papoose hit the jackpot after signing a $1.5 million deal with Jive Records? So when exactly is this “highly anticipated” Nacirema Dream album going to hit the stores?? There are only 2 more days left in 2006, the clock’s-a-tickin!

5. Remember…When R&B legend Gerald Levert passed on November 10th? His untimely and surprisingly shocking death affected us all and our prayers go out to his loved ones. We will miss you Gerald!

6. Remember …When Baby and his “son” Lil Wayne locked lips!? What a joke! They actually had the audacity to offer a “black mafia” explanation of that disgraceful act! Yuck! Sorry guys that definitely does get a cool check on the most awesome things to do scale!

7. Remember…When DJ Carl Blaze died? As a matter of fact that happened pretty recently (Dec. 23). He was shot in the upper east side of Manhattan, New York at least 13 times outside an apartment building. His chain was missing when police arrived. Our prayers go out to his family and loved ones also. You will be missed!

8. Remember …When Allen Iverson was traded from the Philadelphia 76ers to the Denver Nuggets? Apparently he requested the trade after his ten season duration with his home team. Now he and Carmelo Anthony can share the spotlight on his newly acquired team and coach! Good luck A.I!

9. Remember…When Sean Bell and a group of friends were shot 50 times by “New York’s Finest?” His death sparked a revolution of police brutally against black people. Rev. Al Sharpton along with Bell’s family has spoken at public hearings about the tragic death of this young man. Protests were even organized to alert the NYPD that there is no tolerance surrounding police brutality. Our prayers go out to Sean Bell’s family, widow and daughter.

10. Remember…When the Godfather of Soul, James Brown passed? He is mostly remembered for the popular song, “I feel good.” Thousands of people gathered to pay their respects to our fallen angel at Harlem’s Apollo Theater in New York City. He will definitely be missed.
