So what’s new in hip-hop news this week? From the sneak peak at the scandalous
Kim Kardashian and Ray-J sex tape, to Gille da Kid being under arrest and
R&B singer R.Kelly being hospitalized for appendicitis, things don’t
seem to be looking so good for our hip-hop stars that we love to read about
so much.

News has it that, the scandalous sex tape starring Kim Kardasian
and Ray-J was sold to porn purveyor Vivid Video, for $1 million
from an unidentified source! Vivid co-chairman, Steven Hirsch stated,
“We are comfortable that we have the legal right to distribute
this video…I’ve seen the video and it’s really great.
It has over 30 minutes of explicit sex that fans of erotica will find
very appealing…Viewers will definitely get their money’s worth.”
A rep for Kim commented that she would be devastated if this video is
to be released and added, “She will be taking legal action against
anyone responsible for this.
She was unaware of this and caught completely off-guard.” The DVD,
which is to be tentatively titled, “Kim Kardashian Superstar,”
is slated to be in stores by Feb. 28. C’mon Kim, haven’t you

Speaking
of sex tapes, R.Kelly, who was supposed to appear in court on child
pornography charges, will miss his court date due to case of appendicitis.
He was hospitalized and operated on in a Miami hospital and was last
reported in good condition. Under a ruling by Judge Gaughan, Kelly is
legally allowed to travel out-of-state. Prosecutors were informed that
he would be missing his court date next week. |

Gille da Kid was arrested in North Philadelphia on Tuesday after a stakeout. The police seized 89 pounds of marijuana amounting to approximately $404,000 along with five other people who were in conjunction with the seizure. No word on a bond has been mentioned yet. According to the police report, marijuana was found in a car that was pulled over and inside the house where the stakeout took place. |

In Beyonce news, word has it the singer, along with Mexican-folk singer, Alejandro Fernandez have joined together to perform “Amor Gitana.” This song is the new theme song of the new telenovela, “Zorro:La Espada y la Rosa,” which is set to debut on February 12th and 9pm on the Spanish television station, Telemundo. In addition to this venture, Beyonce will also release a Spanish version of B’Day with several new tracks, including a duet with Fernandez. Way to expand your wing Bee! Yo quiero escuchar nuevas cansiones! Figure that one out! |

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a new president in town! That’s right! Jermaine Dupri has been appointed president of Island Records Urban Music, a new division of Island Def Jam. The producer extraordinaire will oversee all urban music under Island as well as produce IDJ artists and the entire Universal Music Group. “I’m so excited to be reunited with L.A. Reid because most of my biggest hits were when he and I worked together,” stated Dupri. “To be working side by side with Steve Bartels- I don’t think there’s a better team because he’s by far the best in the game. I can’t wait to start stuntin’ on y’all.” Congratulations Jermaine! Looking forward to more number one tracks coming from that end! |
