This week’s theme for the infamous rundown of what’s what in hip is “Did you know?” From new albums on the rise, to DMX in trouble with the law again right along with Mr. Kiss as in Jadakiss that is, to Jigga Man’s prohibition to perform in China due to “vulgar lyrics,” the drama keeps rolling and the stories continue to surface. Now, shall I proceed?? Yes indeed!

DID YOU KNOW? R&B singer Case is back and backed by a new label and a new album, which is set to drop next year. Originally the first R&B artist to sign to Def Jam’s Def Soul label, Case was able to negotiate a release from the label and sign a new record deal with Skeleton Key Entertainment.
With this new, short-term contract the singer will retain ownership and creative control over the way his product is marketed and promoted. Looks like this may be a good look for Case, we look forward to the come back!

DID YOU KNOW? DMX is in the news, yet again! The rapper is facing a misdemeanor charge after NYPD stopped him yesterday to find that he was unlicensed to drive in the state of New York and his registration was also suspended. His 2001 Chevy Suburban was impounded and he was also issued three summonses, all of which were: driving with a suspended license, driving with a suspended registration, which is a misdemeanor and driving with an un-inspected vehicle, which is a driving fraction. There’s no hope for this man, none whatsoever!

DID YOU KNOW? Former Ruff Ryder rapper, Drag-On has plans on making a comeback! He is currently in the studio working on his new album and has ownership of his own label called, “Hood Environment” with plans on the release of three new artists signed to his label. “This is a new me and a new sound I’m bringing. Of course it’s going to be growth from my last album,” stated the rapper, “We got club bangers and the hood joints. We always keep the hood involved.” Look out for his new single titled, “Shoe Box.” It has that “southern Midwest mix with that New York” kind of sound.
It’s been a long time coming for Drag-On, can’t wait to see what this album will sound like.

DID YOU KNOW? Rapper Jadakiss was arrested last Saturday on gun and drug possession charges. It was reported that the cops rolled up on the MC while he was sitting in his 2006 Toyota Camry at around 5 a.m. They noticed that the driver was “behaving oddly” and that there was an aroma of marijuana exerting from the vehicle. Upon approaching the car, the cops found a .38 caliber revolver that had been reported stolen. All of the occupants inside the vehicle were charged with possession of a stolen firearm and drug possession. They were all reprimanded to the Westchester County Jail until this past Tuesday. Jada has since posted a $5,000 bail;
he pleaded not guilty in court on the 2 felony charges, possession of a weapon and possession of stolen property. He is due back in court on the 20th of October and also awaits a pending drug possession charge in the meantime. This sounds like a case of you should have been in the house at this time of day. You should know better than that Jada!!

DID YOU KNOW? Jay-Z’s performance was banned in China due to his “vulgar lyrics.” A Chinese newspaper circulated this information, which comes as a surprise as the country has housed several “vulgar” performances including one by the Rolling Stones and the Black Eyed Peas. The performance has been postponed and a new date should be released shortly. It would have been J’s first performance in the Asian country.

And that sums up this week’s daily recap of all the interesting news and events that surround some of our industry’s best. Until next week my humble readers, this is ya girl Miss Hinds!..... I’m Out!
