So what’s new this week? From Justin Timberlake’s fashion line debut, to the IRS issuing a warrant for arrest against Wesley Snipes, to Ali from the St. Lunatics being arrested and tormented by the police, seems like we have some new names in the headlines nowadays…Or do we??

First Cassidy, now the headlines report that 4 of the 5 members of P. Diddy’s super girl group, Danity Kane, have been involved in a car accident. According to the accident report, the 5-girl group excluding D. Woods was leaving the 92.5 KISS FM radio station, where they made an appearance, in Toledo, Ohio. Apparently their Lincoln Town Car was struck by another vehicle at an intersection.
Although no one was seriously injured, the girls did complain of head pain. They were admitted to St. Vincent’s Mercy Medical Center where they were treated and released thereafter. The girls are supposed to be the opening act for Christina Aguilera’s North American Tour. There has been no talk about a cancellation for their performance. I’m sure Puffy wouldn’t have that, not with all the work, sweat and tears he invested in these human beings!!!

Another new name in the headlines, St. Lunatic member, Ali was arrested this past weekend for minor traffic violations and is claiming to have been brutalized by the police. The rapper who’s full name is Ali Jones, was stopped for driving his Chevy Corvette with an expired license and tags. According to Jones, he was handcuffed, thrown into the backseat of the squad car and was stunned with a 50,000 volt taser gun about 50 times.
There has been no word of his release since the incident or any complaints brought against the arresting officer. As soon as I find out any further information I will be sure to let you all know.

Has anyone gone out to see Usher star as Billy Flynn in the Broadway Musical, Chicago? If you haven’t, you’re too late. The singer / actor will not be completing his run as Billy Flynn due to “an extreme case of strep throat.” As a result of this sudden sickness, theatergoers demanded a refund. The box office calculated approximately $400,000 in refund requests for the show according to the New York Post.
The box office calculated approximately $400,000 in refund requests for the show according to the New York Post. Despite his premature departure, Usher’s performance as Billy Flynn was a hit! The singer’s appearance generated $1.7 million in box office sales for the musical. “The entire Chicago Company is sending their thoughts and best wishes to Usher for a quick and speedy recovery,” said Chicago producer Barry Weissler in a statement. Yea I bet they are!

It’s official ladies and gentlemen! Bobby and Whitney are officially over! Houston filed divorce papers in the Orange County Superior Court this week. According to the papers, Houston asked to be granted custody of their daughter Bobbi Kristina. I’m sure miss Kristina would rather live with mommy than a daddy that can’t seem to get over his new edition days.

In other news, R. Kelly’s court date has been delayed yet again. His hearing has been rescheduled for October 27. Kelly has pleaded not guilty to 14 counts of child pornography stemming from a videotape sent to the Chicago Sun-Times that clearly shows him engaging in sexual activities with a mere 14-year old girl. If convicted, Mr. R & B thug could face up to 15 years in prison and would be forced to register as a sex offender. Call him a pedophile, it suits him best don’t you think??

On a happier note, Justin Timberlake debuted his clothing line, William Rast, on Tuesday night at L.A.’s Social Hollywood Club. The collection, which was named after his grandfather, is Denim based 50 % men’s and 50% women’s. “This clothing is [a] representative of where we come from,” stated Justin, “It’s sort of country, but it’s also got a little edge and a little chic to it.” Rast tees retail from $23 to $59, Polos $69 and Denim from $125 to $225. Looking forward to seeing what this clothing line will look like, are you?

Have you heard?? Rapper Fabolous walked out of jail on Wednesday (Oct. 18) when after a friend posted a $15,000 bail. Ohhhh and by the way, that was a CASH bail. Police are still on a hunt for the shooters.

Last but certainly not least; Mr. Wesley Snipes could face up to 16 years in prison if he’s convicted of trying to defraud the government out of $12 million. According to the Daily News, Snipes was indicted on 8 counts of tax fraud and charged with failing to file returns from 1999 through to 2004. He allegedly conspired with Eddie Ray Kahm and Douglass Rosile to “file false refund claims based on a false argument that only income from foreign sources was subject to taxation.”

This is where Snipes finds himself in some trouble because the government never paid the multi-million dollar refunds Snipes claimed. So far Rosile has turned himself in and Snipes and Kahn are nowhere to be found. I mean hasn’t he learned his lesson? This is the same man that lost his house to foreclosure back in 2003 for failing to pay his taxes. With all that money, you would think he’d know what and what not do with it.

And that sums up this week’s rundown on what’s what in hip-hop, until next week my humble readers…this is ya girl Miss Hinds I’m out!
